Spoken in Blaze's POV

I looked back at the Sol Emeralds. I sighed and leaned back and looked up at the sky. I missed him. Every day I dream about him. Think about him. Those emerald eyes. His strong, heroic hands. I had to leave him about a year ago, and after I left, that was when I realized I had feelings for him. But I kind of gave up on it, because he probably already has a girlfriend there. It was either Amy or Sally, I wasn't sure. I stood up and stretched. I have not talked to him in a year, or heard from him. I haven't even seen Eggman Nega since our battle then. Oh yeah. I never told you his name. Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog. I was in love with him. But did he love me back? I wasn't sure. I descended the steps of the altar that held the Sol Emeralds. I might never see him again. I looked at the ground and a tear ran down my left cheek. I ran back up the altar steps and sat by the Sol Emeralds. A slight wind blew. It made me sadder. Sonic was like the wind. Another tear ran down my face. I groaned and wiped it off. Why was I so emotional!? I was never this emotional. I had to admit, I felt lonely and I missed him, but I shouldn't get emotional about it. Crying wouldn't bring him to me. He probably had forgotten about me now. It's been a year. He's probably moved on and completely forgot I was alive. I sat down and sighed. I closed my eyes.

My eyes popped open. It was dark. I had fallen asleep, I realized. It was almost midnight. I realized I had woken up to a crash. Had it been a dream? I stood up and walked to the edge of the altar. There was smoke coming from the inside of the forest. I looked back at the Sol Emeralds. I grabbed them and stuffed them in my pockets and raced into the forest. I followed the smoke to a hole. I peered in the hole. Something was in it. I ignited my hand and lowered it to the hole. It began raining. Here in my dimension, the rain came from the stars. It's a hard concept to grasp, but you'd understand once you entered my dimension. Everything was different here. I bent over closer to the hole. "Hello?" I asked. Something came from the hole. It sounded like a low groan. My heart skipped a beat. "Hello?!" I asked. The thing in the whole groaned again. "Are you okay?" I asked. Maybe it could only speak through grunts. TROLL! I chucked a flame into the hole. Whatever it was roared in agony. Roared in agony? Trolls didn't roar in agony. Yes, trolls exist in my dimension. And they were smelly, horrid creatures. They did whatever they can to get ahold of my Sol Emeralds. They didn't need them. Trolls were creatures that had no brains. They would probably misuse the Sol Emeralds and find out they could use them for evil powers. Yes, even brainless oafs like trolls could figure that out. Trolls liked to steal and hurt people. But whatever I had chucked a flame at, wasn't a troll. Trolls don't cry in agony. "Hello!?" I cried. No answer. My heart skipped a beat. I jumped into the hole.

I landed on a thing. It was somebody...not a troll, definitely. This person had a warm body. Trolls were stone cold. I lowered my ignited hand towards the body. It was red. Wait...no...it was blue? It was all bloody. This person was hurt and it seemed he or she had fallen and landed here. But I think he or she had been attacked before he or she crashed into the forest. I put my hand on the body. It was alive. And breathing. But seriously hurt. "Hello?" I asked. I extinguished my hand and picked up the body and jumped out of the hole. Here in my dimension, gravity wasn't as strong on Earth. So you could jump twice as high in my dimension than you can on Earth. I came out of the hole and raced to my altar without looking to see who it was that I was carrying. I set the body down onto the top of the altar by my one of my Sol Emerald pillars. I ignited my hand again and lowered it to the body. I flipped it over onto its back and nearly screamed. It was Sonic!

Or was it? It looked like him, but I need a confirmation. I couldn't tell, because his eyes were closed. I lifted a closed eyelid. Sure enough, a green iris. "SONIC!" I wept. I shook him. He was all bloody and hurt. And I had chucked a flame at him. I groaned and slapped myself mentally. I picked Sonic up and raced inside my castle. My Sol Emerald altar sat beside it, and it was connected to it by just a stone bridge. Just as I got in my castle, it started to rain. I put Sonic on my bed. "Sonic!?" I asked. He didn't wake up. I went into my bathroom and brought out a first aid kid and attended to his wounds. What had done this to him? He had certainly been attacked before he got here. He had a huge gash on his head that needed to be stitched. I called one of my nurses in and she worked on it. Then Sonic was all patched up and covered in bandages and stitches. He still didn't wake up. I put my fingers on his throat. I felt a pulse, but it was unhealthily weak. He was pale and he didn't move a muscle. The only thing that let me know he was still alive was the slow rising and falling of his chest. I went into the bathroom and rinsed my hands in the faucet. I came out of the bathroom and back to my room and tried splashing some water on him. He didn't move. I brushed the water away and sat beside him. He looked peaceful, but I knew that unconsciousness wasn't peaceful. Compared to sleep, unconsciousness was something you were expecting, and it wasn't as peaceful and calm as sleep. I put my hand on his cheek. It felt cool under my hot hands. My body temperature was about five degrees above the normal temperature. "Sonic," I said. Sonic still did not move. I sighed and put the blanket on him and went back out to the Sol Emeralds. It had quit raining then.

I sat in front of the Sol Emeralds, feeling sick inside. How had Sonic got here? How had he gotten hurt? I sighed. Despite him being only several hundred feet away inside my castle, I still felt like he was far away from me. I felt even lonelier than before. "Blaze?" asked a voice. I jumped. I turned. There he stood, looking at me with a confused face. "Sonic," I said, standing up. I approached him. He looked confused. "What happened?" I asked. "Well, I was fighting Metal Sonic and he attacked me with a huge blast and then I fell and fell and fell and then boom! That's all I remember," Sonic said.

"How'd you get here?"

"That's what I'm trying to decipher..."

"Well, I'm glad you're okay."

"I see you've treated my wounds."

"I did, but my nurse stitched up the wound on your h-"

But I was cut off by Sonic going to me and putting his arms around me. "Oh!" I roared, blushing scarlet. "I've missed you," Sonic's voice whispered into my ear. My heart lurched. "Really?" I asked. "Yes. I have, actually. So much I couldn't bear with it," Sonic said. I couldn't say anything. I wanted to repeat, "Really?" But I felt stupid. I just let him hold me. I put my arms around him then. "I just want you to know that you're never going to be alone," Sonic said. "Huh?" I asked, reddening again. "If you ever feel alone, just know that you're in my thoughts," Sonic said. He pulled away. He chuckled slightly. "Sorry, heh heh. I'm just really grateful you've helped me," Sonic said. "That's what friends are for," I said.

"Yeh, heh heh. I guess."

"So...how are you going to get back?"

"Gee, I don't know...I don't even know how I got here."

"We'd better figure it out!"

"Meh, I don't want to."

"Why?"

"I want to catch up."

I looked at Sonic. "Catch up?" I asked. He grabbed my hand. "Run with me," he said. We took off. I smiled as I felt the morning breeze whip my hair. It was nice running with him. I really loved how fast he ran, and I love it when he ran with me. After awhile, we stopped at a sea cliff. The sun was starting to rise. Sonic chuckled as he let go of my hand. "Heh heh, sunrises aren't as beautiful as sunsets, I think!" he declared. "Yeah, but here, sunrises ARE," I said. "Really?" Sonic said. "Yeah," I said. We watched the sunrise and as the sun rose, it left purple, pink, and yellow marks in the sky. "Pretty much like it is at home," Sonic said. I pointed up. There was a big light show. Kind of like your northern lights. "Whoa..." Sonic said. His hand gently brushed mine. I blushed and looked down at his hand. It was really close to mine. I looked back at Sonic. He turned and looked at me. We stared at each other for a minute. He smiled. I returned the smile. He then winked one of his gorgeous green eyes. I went pink. "So..." Sonic said, sighing. Sonic then jumped. "What?" I asked him with concern. "This!" Sonic said. He held up the white Chaos Emerald. "Oh!" I said. "This must've somehow teleported me here..." Sonic said. "Really?" I asked. "Or...I guess...I think I can try going back with it," Sonic said. "DON'T LEAVE!" I roared. I stopped and looked at my boots. "Sorry," I murmured. "LEAVE!? Who said anything about leaving!?" Sonic said, laughing slightly. "You did," I said. "Yeah, but I'm not leaving. Not now, anyway," Sonic said. There was a pause. "You ok?" Sonic asked. The concern in his voice made my heart flutter. "'M fine," I replied. Sonic chuckled slightly and his fingers brushed my hand again. I looked at it. I felt Sonic's eyes on me. I looked at him. He had a look on his face that told me, "Is it alright?" I nodded. Sonic smiled at me and gently grabbed my hand.

I was in complete bliss. His hand was soft. I looked down and noticed he was missing a glove. And I wasn't wearing mine. It was a beautiful moment. "So, um..." Sonic said. The sun was completely up then. He looked at me. "So! How have you been?" Sonic said. "Guarding the Emeralds, as usual," I said. "Eh!" was all Sonic said. "What about you?" I asked. "The same," I asked.

"I didn't know you guarded Emeralds!"

"Ha ha ha! Very funny, Blaze."

"But what HAVE you been doing?"

"When I said 'the same', I was referring to 'the usual'."

"Which is-?"

"Stopping Eggman, eating chili dogs, and all that boringness."

"Boringness?"

"Yeah, heh heh."

"Is that even a word?"

"Yeah."

"It is?"

"Yep!"

"I didn't know you can add 'ness' after 'ing'."

"Okay, now you're starting to sound like Tails!"

"Is that a bad thing?"

"Hmm...heh heh. I don't know."

I pushed him. "Hey!" Sonic said with a teasing smirk on his face. I sneered. "You're going to pay for that!" Sonic cried. "If you can catch me!" I said. I took off. He ran behind me. I noticed he wasn't running super fast as usual. Then he deliberately caught up with me and pounced on me. "OH!" I roared. We both fell to the ground with him on top. He started to tickle me. "Ha ha ha ha ha! Stop Sonic!" I roared. He laughed along right with me. Then he got off of me and stood up. He helped me up. "You know what?" Sonic said. "What?" I asked. "You look very pretty," Sonic remarked. I blushed. "You think so?" I asked. "Yeah," Sonic said. There was a sparkle in his emerald eyes. He grabbed me and pulled me into his embrace. "I'm glad to have a friend like you," I said. "Friend?" Sonic said, pulling away. I pulled away, too. My heart pounding. "Yeah?" I asked. Sonic looked at the floor and chuckled a bit again. "Um...ya know, Blaze...I was kinda thinkin' that...this may sound crazy, but...I kinda think I like you as...more than a friend," Sonic said. "Wha-?" I asked. Sonic backed up a bit, probably thinking I might hurt him. "More than a friend?" I said. "Yeh..." Sonic said. He looked at his shoes. I knew he wasn't completely sure on what to say. He's never come to this situation before, I knew. And I had a feeling at what he was getting at. And that feeling made my heart do somersaults. "This...this is dumb. What am I going at?" Sonic said. "This isn't dumb!" I said. "I feel dumb. I feel like a loser for saying that. You're probably disgusted," Sonic said. "DISGUSTED?" I asked. Sonic backed up. "Sorry, but why would I be disgusted?" I asked. "Because...I want to be more than your friend, Blaze...but people say long distance relationships can't work...oh, crap..." Sonic said. His sentence was a confirmation. He liked me back. I couldn't breathe. I felt dizzy. I staggered a bit. Sonic sighed and backed up even more. I seized him. "Don't say that. I know Tails can find a way to make this work. And the Chaos Emerald might even work too," I said, nodding to the white Chaos Emerald that he still held. "Blaze, I feel really embarrassed. Are you embarrassed?" Sonic said. "No!" I said. "Not at all?" Sonic said. "No!" I said.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, Sonic."

"Because what I said...was COMPLETELY uncalled for!"

"No it wasn't."

"Yes it was. Oh Blaze we should be more than friends! Superfluous, I tell ya!"

"Will you relax? Why are you freaking out?"

"I feel stupid!"

"Why?"

"I told you something that...I just...I...I'm..."

"Sonic, relax, okay? Take three deep breaths."

"You might not feel the...same."

"What's your proof?"

"I...don't know...I've tried letting you know, but you haven't let me know yet."

"What are you talking about?"

"Blaze..."

"What?"

"Can you just answer me a question? If you answer it I'll get out of your hair."

"Sure, Sonic."

Sonic rubbed the back of his neck and looked at the floor. "You've probably already assumed this, but I want to be more than just friends," he said. "Hmm mmm," I said. "Like...I want to...um...date you," Sonic said. These words made my heart start pounding fast again. "Oh," I said. "So...the question I'd like to ask you, is...do you feel the same back?" said Sonic. I blushed. "Oh...um..." I said. Sonic bit his lip. I smiled and nodded. This changed Sonic's mood. He brightened and looked at me. "R-Really?" he said. "Yeah," I said. Sonic looked at his shoes again. "Or, are you just saying that?" he asked. I embraced him. He welcome it with a warm smile. It was blissful moment. The next few minutes we were filled with joy and comfort. And love. We pulled away. "Wow, my wounds hurt so bad," Sonic said. "Want to go lay down and rest?" I asked. Sonic smiled and nodded. We went back to my castle as dusk fell. In my dimension, days only lasted 5 hours. Nights lasted 5 hours as well. I let him sleep in my bed and started to go outside. "What're you doing?" Sonic asked from the top flight of the stairs. "Going out to guard the Emeralds," I said. "In the rain?" Sonic asked. I looked out and noticed that, yet again, it was raining. "Yeah. It's my duty," I said. "Well, a princess like you shouldn't be guarding Emeralds outside in the rain," Sonic said. "Thanks, that's nice, but..." I said. "Either you stay here and be a princess, or let me go out there and guard the Emeralds for you!" Sonic snapped. He was being chivalrous, I knew it. "Sonic..." I said. There was a pause. "I'll stay in here," I said. "Then you get your bed! I get the couch!" Sonic said. He was being chivalrous again. I liked it, a lot actually, but I was fine with things the way they were. "Alright," I said.

The next morning I woke up feeling happy. I went downstairs and saw Sonic still asleep. He looked so peaceful sleeping. Even more peaceful than when I first saw him earlier. He was whispering in his sleep, and he'd often twitch. I wondered what he was dreaming about...I went out and checked on the Sol Emeralds. They were all still there. Then I felt hands on my shoulder. I turned and was startled to see Sonic awake. "How long have you been awake?" I asked. "A minute," Sonic said, yawning. He twisted his body left and I heard his back pop. He groaned in pleasure at this. Sonic did the same for the other side, and even more bones popped. He smiled at me. "Even with morning hair, you still look pretty," Sonic said sleepily. "Thanks," I said. "I need to wake up! Want to go for a run?" Sonic asked. "Sure!" I said. "Nah, screw that. Let's RACE!" Sonic said, smirking. He took off. "WAIT!" I roared.

We raced along side-by-side. We ran through forests and fields. We ended up tying as we reached the base of a mountain. I giggled. Then a troll snatched Sonic.

"AH!" I roared. Sonic struggled against the troll, but not even his powers could faze the troll. The troll climbed the mountain. Trolls were excellent climbers, as I had forgot to mention. "STOP!" I roared. I groaned. Like that was going to stop the troll. The troll repelled all the way to the top of the mountain. It was over 500 feet high. I gulped. I wasn't exactly keen on heights. But I started to repel the mountain, too. I came to a cliff and grabbed onto a ledge and looked down. The trees were the size of ants. I lost my footing and fell a good distance until I grabbed onto another ledge. I continued to ascend, trying not to look down. I reached the top. I saw the troll holding Sonic over the edge. I looked around. The view was beautiful, but the mountain wasn't very large. It had a very small peak. It was only about 10 feet long. And 5 feet wide. I approached the troll. The closer I got, the looser the troll's grip became on Sonic. "LET HIM GO!" I spat, igniting my hands. The troll grunted and let go of Sonic. "NO! NOT LIKE THAT!" I boomed. I ran into the troll and fell with him. We caught up with Sonic. Sonic seized me. The three of us fell. And fell. And fell. And fell. Then we stopped. I looked up. Sonic was holding onto a very thin branch sticking out from the mountain cliff. I looked down and saw the troll hit the ground. I was shaking. "Sonic...I don't like heights!" I whined. "I know. Hang on," Sonic said. He made sure his grip around me was tight enough as he started running down the mountain. We got to the bottom and we jumped over the dead troll and raced back to my castle. I went to check on the Sol Emeralds while Sonic went inside. But I only thought he went inside. "Geez, can you just cut yourself some slack at least a LITTLE bit?" Sonic's voice said. I turned. There he stood, smiling at me. I smiled back. "I think I have to go," Sonic said. "WHA-?" I began, but I was cut off by him pressing his lips against mine.

I felt like I was flying. We kissed on and on for a minute or two. We let go. "I love you," he whispered. "I love you, too," I replied. He smiled and stroked my cheeks. He kissed me again. I went scarlet when I felt his tongue slip under mine. He pulled away and went red, too. "Why do you have to leave?" I asked, feeling sorrow clench my heart. "Hey! Take it easy! I'm not leaving you forever like I did last time. I am coming back," Sonic said. "Really?" I asked. "As often as I can. And that's almost everyday. I want to see you everyday. But I don't think I can see you EVERY day, I have Eggman and everything. But I will visit you more often than not, I promise," Sonic said. "You will?" I asked. "Yes," Sonic said. He kissed me again. Then he let go. "You stay safe. Don't make me have to come over here and tickle you!" Sonic said. I laughed. We paused. "I love you," he told me again. "I know. I love you t-" I began, but he put his finger on my lip. "Don't tell me. I already know," he said. I smiled. He put his arms around me. "I'm leaving because everyone's probably worried sick about me, and Eggman might've made Mobius Eggmanland now," Sonic said. We held each other for quite sometime. "Just know, that you are never alone. I am always thinking about you, and I am always loving you," Sonic said, kissing me. "And also I want you to know that together we are one. The element of wind and fire, mixed into one. Take care, my princess," Sonic said. A tear ran down my face. "NO! Don't do that to me. Don't cry, or I'm gonna have to tickle you again," Sonic said. He brushed the tear off my cheek. "Just remember, I'll always love you. And I will visit you as often as I can," Sonic said. We kissed one more time, then he said Chaos Control and was gone.

Together we are one; the element of wind and fire....<3
